The main SAWC Spring conference offers a maximum of 22 hours of CME/CE credits.
Additional CME/CE credit hours are offered through Industry-Supported Symposium (ISS) and 10 additional CME/CE credit hours are offered through Pre-conferences held on April 26, 2023. These events are not part of the official SAWC meeting programming and provide separate continuing education credits, which are outlined under each credit type below.

Intended Learners
This conference is designed for physicians, nursing professionals, physical therapists, researchers, scientists, podiatrists, and dietitians across all practice settings involved in wound healing or wound care issues. SAWC Spring provides attendees who study and treat wounds with state-of-the-art reviews of clinical problems and research information.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Develop an interdisciplinary and comprehensive approach to the prevention, treatment, and management of patients with wounds, including chronic, complex, and difficult-to-heal wounds.
- Cultivate best-practice strategies of clinical pearls and evidence-based guidelines for prevention and management of wounds
- Deliver optimal patient care through enhanced knowledge of reimbursement, quality measures, and the use of emerging and innovative wound healing technologies and modalities
- Explore factors inhibiting wound healing including COVID-19, medical comorbidities, and patient behavioral challenges.
Activity Overview
This educational conference will occur from April 26 - 30, 2023 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.
To be eligible for documentation of credit, participants must attend the full activity and submit a completed evaluation form. Participants who complete the evaluation online within 60 days of the live meeting will receive documentation of credit.

Alabama: Will honor any coursework relevant to the practice of Physical Therapy.
California:The approval is for the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care, Spring 2023 course for April 26– 30, 2023. It has been approved by the Medical Sciences Foundation for 22 continuing education hours. The course approval number is #6641 with the PT California Board Approval agency and the certification for this course is valid for one year.
Florida: This activity has been approved by the Florida Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. The maximum allowable hours for this program are 22 Provider # 20-992908. Accreditation of this course does not necessarily imply the FPTA supports the views of the presenter of the sponsors.
Hawaii:The Board will accept continued competence courses in subjects related to either the professional practice of physical therapy or patient/client management from courses approved by another state or jurisdiction's physical therapy board or its equivalent.
Louisiana: This course has been approved by the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board for a maximum of 22 clinical hours.
Maryland: This course has been approved by the MD State Board of Physical Therapy for 1.8 CEUs. Expiration: 04/20/2025
North Carolina: This activity has been approved by the North Carolina Physical Therapy Association for a maximum of 22 contact hours, depending on which and how many sessions are attended. NCPTA Approval does not imply NCPTA endorsement of any particular products, services, or views of any particular speaker or sponsor.
North Dakota: All competence activities related to physical therapy sponsored by the APTA, State PT Associations, Medical/Educational institutions or certified by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) are automatically approved as "certified activities".
Texas: This activity has been approved by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for 22.25 CCUs for PTs and PTAs.
Washington D.C.: SAWC Spring has been pre-approved by the state of Washington DC. Attendees must submit this certificate and any other material into your designated state board in order to receive full approval.
