Intended Learners

This conference is designed for physicians, nursing professionals, physical therapists, researchers, scientists, podiatrists, and dietitians across all practice settings involved in wound healing or wound care issues. SAWC Spring provides attendees who study and treat wounds with state-of-the-art reviews of clinical problems and research information.

Learning Objectives

  • Improve patients’ lives through interdisciplinary and comprehensive care to prevent, treat, and manage patients with wounds, including chronic, complex, and difficult-to-heal wounds
  • Enhance your practice by employing best-practice strategies, clinical pearls, and evidence-based guidelines for prevention and management of wounds
  • Advance your service by better understanding reimbursement, quality measures, and the use of emerging and innovative wound healing technologies and modalities
  • Appreciate clinical challenges and how to deal with them, including comorbidities, patient behavior, and drug interactions

Activity Overview

This educational conference will occur May 14–18, 2024, at the Marriott World Center in Orlando, Florida.

To be eligible for documentation of credit, participants must attend the full activity and submit a completed evaluation form. Participants who complete the evaluation online within 60 days of the live meeting will receive immediate documentation of credit. Upon completing the activity, participants will receive instructions on how to complete the evaluation and print a certificate or other documentation of credit.

Florida This activity has been approved by the Florida Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. The maximum allowable hours for this program are 26; Approval Number 20-1189990; Expiration: May 18, 2025. Accreditation of this course does not necessarily imply the FPTA supports the views of the presenter of the sponsors.

Louisiana – This course has been approved by the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board for a maximum of 26.25 clinical hours.

Alabama – Alabama will honor any coursework relevant to the practice of Physical Therapy.

Hawaii – The Board will accept continued competence courses in subjects related to either the professional practice of physical therapy or patient/client management from courses approved by another state or jurisdiction’s physical therapy board or is equivalent. 

North Carolina – This activity is approved by the NCBPTE by virtue of approval by the state of Florida.

North Dakota – All competence activities related to physical therapy sponsored by the APTA, State PT Associations, Medical/Educational institutions or certified by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) are automatically approved as "certified activities”.

Oregon – SAWC Spring 2024 meets the requirements for 26.25 hours of continue competency in Oregon. 

Washington D.C. – This symposium has been pre-approved by the state of Washington DC. Attendees must submit this certificate and any other material into your designated state board in order to receive full approval.
